Recommend Your Favorite Cozy Read
Even though it’s still hotter than hell in Charlotte, we’re craving all the cozy books as we head into the fall season! We asked each of our book sellers to recommend their favorite cozy read. It could be a book that takes place in a cozy environment, it could be a book that felt like a warm hug, or a book that reminded them of home or simpler times.

She finds a place of belonging at the home where she teaches them… and she might just find love, too!

What’s cozier than a slow-burn story set against rolling hills and rainy trails of the English countryside? You Are Here follows two strangers, both nursing their own heartbreak, on a coast-to-coast trek across England, where awkward small talk slowly turns into a real connection. This story goes beyond a slow-burn connection, and also is about the two of them slowly finding their way back to themselves and figuring out who they want to be next. Where things end up between them is to be determined, but one thing’s for sure: they don’t finish this walk as the same people who started it! It’s hopeful and full of second chances, the kind of story that makes you want to grab a cozy blanket and a warm drink and read the day away!

Weavingshaw is the perfect gothic fantasy/mystery to read on a rainy day with a mug of hot coffee or tea. I was wrapped up in the dark atmosphere, slow burn, the characters, and the suspense until the end.

This book is the perfect classic romance (and chances are that you already love the movie)!

Hobbits are tiny humans with furry feet. They love to eat and drink tea and garden and read. They also live in little houses under hills. What’s cozier than that? Reading about a hobbit who embarks on an adventure (where there be dragons!), when all he really wants is to be home in his comfy abode is peak cozy behavior.

Some books are allowed to be sentimental, quaint, and low-stakes. Just a few! I proclaim this one of the lucky few, now and forevermore.
Anne of Green Gables is basically a warm cup of tea in book form: an imaginative, overly dramatic little girl, a sleepy Prince Edward Island town, kindhearted people, beautiful scenery, and the small joys (and disasters) of everyday life. It’s nostalgic without being boring, and sentimental without ever feeling undeserved. If you need a book that feels like coming home, let Anne Shirley take you to Green Gables.

I chose this as my cozy book rec because it is the first romance novel I absolutely fell in love with. Between the pacing, the banter and the comedy, this story will remind you what it’s like to feel alive again in the best way.
