New Release Wine Pairing
Join us for another new release wine pairing with our favorite partners in crime, Hex!
On November 10, we will be at Hex Coffee & Natural Wines at Camp North End with 9 incredible new releases, all of which will be thoughtfully paired with a natural wine for you to sample. Throughout the evening you'll be told about each of the books and wines selected, with time to sip and chat in between. Your ticket price includes 9 one oz pours of wine, 10% off select wines at Hex, and 10% off any books or bookish items purchased at the event.
The books featured at this event will include:
Tsundoku: The Japanese Art Of Collecting Books by Taiki Raito Pym: This is a charming, illustrated book all about the Japanese concept of tsundoku, or the art of joyfully collecting and living with books.
An Embodiment of Souls by Julia Laurel: In this bold and original debut novel, one queer man and one queer woman must team up to fight back against their oppressive necromantic government to save themselves and give their nation a chance for equality.
The Man Who Read Books by Rachid Benzine: This contemporary literary fiction story follows an elderly bookseller who improbably keeps his shop open in Palestine, telling a foreign correspondent the ways in which literature has provided him with refuge and inspiration.
Renaissance Men by Harriet Washington: This nonfiction book delves into the untold story of three overlooked Black doctors and the critical contributions they made to the field of medicine and American culture, written by a renowned scholar, writer, and medical ethicist.
Too Cold For Comfort by Nisha J. Tuli: Y’all know we are big Nisha fans at TNB! Too Cold For Comfort is her latest romcom featuring a grumpy/sunshine, annoyance-to-lovers romance.
I Don’t Want To Wait by Kerr Smith: Calling all Dawson’s Creek fans! This nostalgic look back at one of the hottest, most paradigm-shifting shows -- written by one of its stars -- will transport fans right back to Capeside, MA, revealing all the fun, romances, friendships, and drama, that happened in that small town -- on and off the screen.
Daddy Issues by Sofia Franklyn: Get ready for a tell-all, Daddy Gang. Former Call Her Daddy podcast co-host Sofia Franklyn is finally sharing her half of the story of the break up that shook the podcast world.
Take My Word For It by LeVar Burton: Take a look… our favorite Reading Rainbow host from the 80s and 90s has published a book! The legendary actor behind Roots, Star Trek: The Next Generation, and Reading Rainbow shares never-before-told stories from a life that has shaped generations—told at last on his own terms.
The Secrets of Clarence Manor by Devney Perry: You might recognize her name from Shield of Sparrows and Rites Of The Starling, but she’s back with a different tale this time! This is the first installment in a sweeping dark academia romance duet set amid wealth, privilege, and long-buried family secrets. When Cassia Collins arrives at Aston University to escape a scandalous past, she finds herself living at the enigmatic Clarence Manor, where every resident is hiding something.
