New Release Wine Pairing
Join us for another new release wine pairing with our favorite partners in crime, Hex! On October 13, we will be at Hex Coffee & Natural Wines at Camp North End with 11 incredible new releases, all of which will be thoughtfully paired with a natural wine for you to sample. Throughout the evening you'll be told about each of the books and wines selected, with time to sip and chat in between. Your ticket price includes 10 one oz pours of wine, 10% off select wines at Hex, and 10% off any books or bookish items purchased at the event. You can purchase tickets here:
The books featured at this event will include:
The Forest Bleeds by Rachel Kirch: A speculative horror-romance that combines the magical dark academia of The Atlas Six, the unsettling atmosphere of Mexican Gothic, and the psychosexual power dynamics of The Last Housewife.
I’ll Believe Anything by Jacob Tierney: A behind-the-scenes look at the making of season 1 of Heated Rivalry, with never-seen-before photos and stories.
This Is The Only Kingdom by Jaquira Diaz: Out in paperback for the first time, this novel is at once a story of a Puerto Rican neighborhood with its flavors and sights and sounds as distinctive as a fingerprint, and an intimate story of a woman caught in a murder investigation, that of her daughter who seeks to understand her sexual identity, and how to live in a community that is no longer welcoming.
The Tulip Poplars by Silas House: At its heart, this is a love story between two men unable to let their love become public in the early 1900s. But as the novel covers events over much of the 20th century, it also explores characters' tensions with faith, race, and the pursuit of happiness outside of accepted conventions.
Peck & Peck by Bonnie Garmus: You might recognize her name from her first novel, Lessons In Chemistry. Her newest book follows an irresistible, hilarious, and tender story about a young man whose life turns upside down when he is hired by the most prestigious, secretive, and dysfunctional poetry journal in the world: the renowned Peck & Peck of New York City.
The Four Wives and Five Deaths of Richard Milford by Nafissa Thompson-Spires: This one looks like a fantastic debut novel about the murder of an infamous moonshiner and the cacophony of true stories a small town can tell about itself.
Home For The Homicides by Elle Cosimano: We love a good holiday mystery as well as cozy holiday romances, and Home For The Homicides promises to deliver just that! When Special Agents Holly Frost and Mark Shepherd report to the idyllic town of Christmas to investigate a very less than idyllic murder, they’re in for more than the average whodunnit.
Don’t Fall by B.B. Reid: The queen of dark romance fairy tale re-tellings is back with the first book in her duology of a Little Red Riding Hood re-telling. Please be aware this book will explore dark themes and is intended for readers 18+.
As You Wake, Break The Shell by Becky Chambers: Explore a universe of stubborn survival and found family, of persistent danger and quiet wonder in the first installment of a heartfelt new duology from Hugo Award–winning author Becky Chambers.
Entities To Lovers by Mallory Marlowe: A connection that’s more than supernatural emerges between two rival tour guides who wish they could ghost each other in this sparkling romantic comedy from USA Today bestselling author Mallory Marlowe.
